From 2008, Jean has primarily focused on business aviation. He is dedicated to finding the optimum solution to fulfil each customer’s individual requirements and has a unique understanding of the privacy and discretion required in this challenging and demanding sector.
Since co-founding The Sharpwings in 2015, Jean has set new standards in business aircraft surveys, appraisals, repossessions, remarketing and sales. His innovative approach enables The Sharpwings to deliver the exact information financiers and other clients need to make informed risk management decisions.
Jean has over 20 years experience in managing aviation projects. Starting his career at the Airbus Delivery Centre in 1998, he then spent almost 10 years with Bureau Veritas and more than 6 years with Altair Aero Projects as Chief Operating Officer. During his tenure with these companies, he was involved in a wide range of aviation asset management related projects: from individual aircraft appraisal to airline buy-outs and investments, through to fleet valuation and the structuring of complex sale and purchase transactions.
Jean graduated from the ENAC – Ecole Nationale de l’Aviation Civile (French Civil Aviation University) in 1998 with a Master’s degree in engineering, specialising in aviation.
Angus has broad aviation experience, specialising in regional aircraft finance, remarketing and economics. Over the last twenty years, he has successfully managed numerous transactions across a wide variety of, predominantly regional, aircraft types and is a respected member of the global aviation finance community.
Starting his aviation career at Groupe Paribas in the early 1990s, he later joined Airstream International Group where he initially acted for Embraer in a sales finance capacity and was then an instrumental part of the team who lead them to become a leading regional aircraft remarketer.
Since co-founding The Sharpwings with partner Jean Sémiramoth in 2015, Angus has continued to focus on the regional aviation market. His deep understanding and experience of this sector delivers incisive advisory services to regional airline clients, enabling them to make informed decisions on fleet planning, aircraft finance, procurement and disposal issues.
In 2016, Angus was also one of the group that founded the regional aircraft lessor, TrueNoord. Alongside his position at The Sharpwings, he is Industry Officer for TrueNoord, where he deploys his extensive experience in the regional aircraft market to develop its investment process, seeking to both manage and expand its fleet of aircraft.
Angus is an Economics & Business graduate of Trinity College, Dublin and an Air Transport Management postgraduate of Cranfield University. He is also multi-lingual in English, German and French.
